 GP-343.1 HOPE’S APPARATUS
For determining maximum density of water, made of G.I. Sheet cylinder 50mm dia x 300mm height mounted on a base having 2 tubulatures for thermometers, with a gallery of 60mm x 150mm for placing mixture of ice and salt. The respective temperatures of water at the top and bottom of the inner cylindrical vessel are measured over a period as the water cools. Complete with bungs and thermometers.
 GP-344.1 CHARLE’S LAW APPARATUS
With a glass ‘U’ tube with a bulb and tap at the upper end of one limb other limb open. From the bottom of the ‘U’ is an outlet tube which passes through a bung and terminates in a tap. The bulb has a capacity of 7cm³ and the stem beneath is graduated 3 x 0.1cm³ allowing for expansion over a range of 100°C. The apparatus can be supported by a single clamp and only 20cm³ of mercury is needed. Complete with instructions for use.
 GP-345.1 CONSTANT VOLUME AIR THERMOMETER
Consists of a polished teakwood stand approx. 750mm height fitted with a wooden scale reading from 0 to 60cm x 1mm and supporting an adjustable mercury reservoir by a metal rod. A detachable air thermometer bulb about 70mm dia, connected via three way stopcock to mercury tube with zero index fused inside its upper end. A metal vessel surrounding the bulb supported by detachable metal shelf mounted on insulating asbestos screen. Mounted on a teakwood stand with a deep tray.
 GP-346.1 IRON FLASK FOR FREEZING
For demonstrating the expansion of water on freezing. A cast iron bottle 100 x 25mm approx. which can be sealed by means of a well fitting screwed in iron plug.
 GP-348 REGNAULT’S HYGROMETER SIMPLE
For determining the dew point comprising a glass tube 150 x 25mm with polished silver thimble closed bottom of the tube and the upper end by a rubber bung. The bung has 2 glass air tubes with right angled bends. One tube ending just below the bung, the other reaching nearly to the bottom of the thimble and a hole for thermometer which reads 10 to 50°C x 0.5°C.
